Sympathy

It is never easy to comfort someone who has lost a loved one. Flowers are a visual way of expressing sympathy, respect and love at a time when it is often difficult to put feelings into words. Flowers add a sense of warmth and dignity during the funeral service, and are a source of reflection and symbolism for the bereaved. For many, flowers are a source of peace and beauty during a sad and difficult time. Please contact us to discuss your specific floral design needs.

When to Send Flowers
Often flowers are sent to the funeral home by family or close friends at the time of loss.  It is also appropriate to send flowers to the home of the bereaved.

Many people like to send flowers a week or more after memorial services to the home of the bereaved to communicate the message that friends and family are thinking of them and want to support them through their grieving process.

Donations in lieu of flowers
We are often asked if it is OK to send flowers if the family has requested donations in lieu of flowers.  In our experience, families appreciate flowers in addition to your donation.  Flowers help to say what is difficult to express in words.

Example Card Messages for Sympathy Arrangements

It is sometimes difficult to know what to write on the card of a sympathy arrangement for a bereaved family.  The following are some example messages for your consideration:

In loving memory Our thoughts are with you
With deepest sympathy At times like this, words cannot express our feelings
We share your sorrow Thinking of you at this time of sorrow
Thinking of you at this difficult time We hope it somehow helps to know that we care
Always in our hearts We will always remember with fondness
